Focus: NTA Pattern Changes & Accuracy

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially reverted to the pre-pandemic pattern. For students appearing in JEE Main 2026, the "safety net" of choosing 5 out of 10 questions in Section B is gone. Every question now counts, and every mistake has a price.

What has changed?

* Mandatory Section B: You must now attempt all 5 numerical questions per subject.

* Negative Marking: For the first time, Section B numerical value questions carry a penalty for wrong answers.

* Math Weightage: NTA’s tie-breaker rules now prioritize Mathematics scores above all else.

The Kalpavriksha Edge:

At Kalpavriksha Institute, Indore, we’ve already adapted our Daily Test Series to mirror this high-stakes environment. Our 1.5-hour daily tests focus specifically on reducing "calculation trauma" in Section B, ensuring our students are part of the top selection ratio in Madhya Pradesh.
